Launch reroll tier list: the published snapshot
The table below attributes the launch order to GameWith’s 28 October 2026 guide. Its purpose is opening-account recruitment value. It is not an official Capcom ranking, an independent test by this site, or a promise about every encounter. “MHO” is a common abbreviation for Monster Hunter Outlanders, but the full game name matters when comparing guides from this series.
| GameWith tier | Adventurers | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| SS | Midori | Fresh-account reroll priority |
| S | Pepper | Fresh-account reroll priority |
| A | Luka, Arkaya | Fresh-account reroll priority |
| B | Pyro, Keres, Rhodes | Fresh-account reroll priority |
| C | Luxheart, Ryunosuke | Fresh-account reroll priority |
Raya, Madelyn and the protagonist are excluded from GameWith’s reroll ranking. Exclusion from a recruitment-focused list is not evidence that an Adventurer is weak.
Why Midori is a prominent reroll target
The official English roster describes Midori as an Assault Adventurer using a Long Sword. Her evasive movement and skills that build the Spirit Gauge support an active attacking rhythm. That kit gives a concrete reason to investigate her if you enjoy a mobile melee playstyle.
Both third-party reroll guides linked below prioritize Midori. Their agreement is useful evidence of an early recommendation, but it does not substitute for a controlled damage comparison. Check that Midori is available in the current banner and try her controls when a trial or preview is available. If the weapon feels uncomfortable, the highest recruitment priority may not be your most useful main.
Compare Adventurer roles before comparing letters
These are official class and kit summaries, not extra tiers. A roster with different forms of utility can solve problems that a list of damage-focused recommendations does not capture. Consider who you actively control, what the other available kits contribute and which monster or mode you are preparing for.
| Adventurer | Official class / weapon | What to evaluate in play |
|---|---|---|
| Midori | Assault / Long Sword | Spirit Gauge flow and evasive movement |
| Pepper | Disruptor / Heavy Bowgun | Airborne attacks and ranged positioning |
| Luka | Assault / Bow | Precise casts and Thunder Coating |
| Arkaya | Support / Lance | Resolve spending and shield timing |
| Rhodes | Assault / Hammer | Charged attacks and energy conversion |
| Madelyn | Support / Bow | Spores and nearby-ally support |
Why two launch tier lists can disagree
Game.guide’s reroll discussion emphasizes avoiding targets it says are obtained free and recommends looking beyond a single damage pick. GameWith weighs beginner-friendly attacking and useful special-move contributions in its own order. Even when both guides recommend Midori, the surrounding priorities need not match.
The important question is what a tier measures. A list can rank immediate recruitment value, ease of control, an optimized roster, a specific monster matchup or performance under a mode’s supplied conditions. Those are separate tasks. A free Adventurer can have high gameplay value and low reroll value at the same time.
- Availability: is the Adventurer actually in the recruitment pool you can use?
- Acquisition cost: will an eligible event supply the same Adventurer?
- Control: can you execute the kit while avoiding the monster’s attacks?
- Team need: do you lack direct offense, disruption or support?
- Mode: are you entering ordinary progression, Nest Hunt or equal-condition Arena competition?
How to choose the best Adventurers for your account
Start by identifying the problem in your current hunts. If attacks miss because you are out of position, changing a tier letter will not automatically fix the lost uptime. If you regularly need defensive utility, read what a Support kit actually supplies before replacing it with another attacker.
Use a short comparison on the same available target and difficulty. Keep the control mode and major loadout conditions stable, then note whether you complete the encounter, how often you lose control of the fight and whether the kit is comfortable. This is a suggested evaluation method, not a claim that we have run a launch benchmark.
For a new account, our editorial recommendation is to prioritize one Adventurer you want to learn, then build around what you can actually obtain. If you already have a useful SSR and are enjoying progression, the reroll guide explains why stopping can be a sensible choice.
Adventurers, the roster and search terminology
Players sometimes search for “Monster Hunter Outlanders characters” or “best hunters.” The playable roster is called Adventurers on the official English website, and we use that term throughout our guides. Buddies such as Kojiro belong to a separate companion category.
Keep recruitment tiers separate from weapon tiers too. Two Adventurers sharing a weapon type can have different class roles and mechanics. The weapons guide maps the official roster to weapon types without claiming that every member of a weapon category has the same performance.
